Tashyra, your Humble Takeover is your story. How has Motherhood impacted your life and your story?
I had my life all planned out growing up not knowing in 2015 my life would change forever. On October 12th of 2015 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl by the name of Paisley Rose Morgan. With that already being a curve in my thought-out plan I took on the challenge. As I sit back and think I knew I always wanted to graduate college but having my daughter made it so much more real for me. I knew I had a little person depending on me to make sure our future would be ok. I finished my last 3 semesters in college as a first-time mom and by the grace of God I made it to the finish line. I graduated from The Southern University A & M College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. My daughter is now 4 years old and still the best blessing I have received in my life thus far. Motherhood has taught me so much more about myself. As the years go by I am still learning how to be the best mom I can be. The road is not easy but with God, the support of family and friends I am ready to conquer whatever else is along the way for me.
What lessons have you learned from being a Mother?
I've learned to have more patience, better organizational and time management skills and that it is okay to make mistakes as a mother.
What advice would you offer other mothers who are writing their own stories while balancing motherhood?
I would like to suggest always keeping God first and no matter how hard the battle may seem it’s always light at the end of the tunnel. Use your child or children for that motivation or extra push to keep you going. They are counting on us.
