Meet Dr. Antonio Jackson, DVM, MS

What’s a quote that fuels your passion?

"Take risks, do not be scared of failure, it only makes you stronger. The one who fails is the one who never took the risks!"

Dr. Jackson, your Humble Takeover is your story. Tell the family where you started and how you got to where you are today.

As a small boy I have always dreamed of getting to the point where I am now; however, I did not have the resources, finances, or support. Everyday I woke up I strived towards my dreams. If it was not possible I made it possible.  Jackson's Veterinary Services LLC started due to my love and passion for my community back home in Mansfield,LA. The animal population in this area were suffering from illnesses that could be easily prevented.  Knowing the nature of the community and them not wanting to take their pets to a veterinary hospital, I decided to bring the hospital to them. I started with only a pop-up tent, a table, and a cooler for vaccinations. Gladly, the business has grown to having a mobile unit and I can now perform surgical procedures, dental cleaning, emergency life-saving procedures, and etc. This experience is real and authentic. The business went for a pop-up tent and a tablet to a mobile unit. I am now licensed in 4 states to practice veterinary medicine.

Which chapter in your story inspired your current venture?

I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur and a veterinarian. Since I was a young boy my vision has been the same. Each day I would awake, I strived to achieve my goals, my dreams, and aspirations. I remained positive in negative situations and remembered to smile. I never got discouraged and because I knew that dreams can come true, I never gave up. I was not supposed to make it out based on statistics but I did. I am doing what I truly love and do not feel as if I am working at all. The thing that pushed me the most was having to watch my mom struggle to raise three kids as a single parent. She wanted us to be better and create a life in which we did not have to struggle like she did. She is the source of my hussle, persistence, and work ethic.

What keeps you Humble through your success and failure in Life?

There are a few things that keep me humble, first being how and where I was raised. Although I was raised in poverty, my family instilled wisdom into the young kids. We did not have substantial finances; we were rich in wisdom, spirit, faith, and common sense. We were taught how to think critically and skills that made us all handy. Secondly, we were taught to treat others how we would like to be treated regardless if they were rich, poor, black, white, mean, or nice. Lastly, my relationship with GOD is one of the main reasons for my humility. Just as quick as GOD gave me these things he can take them away.

What advice would you offer our family who is writing their own story?

"Be fearless, be different, and be you. Your dreams are just that, yours. Just because you are the only one that can see the possibilities do not make them impossible. Take good risks. Learn to accept rejection and keep moving forward. Be persistent until something happens! Do not look for approval from anyone when you already have GOD's approval. Work hard and DO NOT QUIT! Take the first step! Don't just talk about it, do it!
